The Trussell Trust - Give Your Voice campaign

When launching the Cheese Collective in November last year, one of our founding principles was supporting UK food banks, while providing our customers with delicious British cheeses.

We’re partnered with the Trussell Trust - the UK’s largest network of food banks. For every box purchased from us, we’ll donate a meal to a food bank, making sure one less person is left hungry.

With May now here (no, we can’t believe it either!) The Trussell Trust is launching a new campaign called Give Your Voice, which is encouraging supporters to advocate for a hunger-free future. 

There are several things you can do to support the campaign, whether it’s starting conversations about the state of hunger and destitution in the UK, posting on your social media about the incredible work of the Trussell Trust, or signing up to their Hunger Free Future campaign HERE.

Between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021, food banks in the Trussell Trust’s UK wide network distributed 2.5 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis - a 33% increase on the previous year. Sadly, 980,000 of these went to children.

And compared to this time five years ago, the need for food banks in the Trussell Trust network has increased by 128%.

The Trussell Trust explained: “Our May challenge has been inspired by the Trussell Trust’s desire to build awareness and understanding among the wider public, ultimately with the ambition of influencing action to help create a hunger free future.

"If we act together, we can build a future where no one goes hungry and everyone has enough money for the basics."
